THE NUMBER OF SESSIONS DOESN'T MATTER!

The PPC Journal 📰

“I start out highly motivated and then give up after a few weeks...”

“I've been training for months, but I still can't see the changes in the mirror..”

“I do everything right, but I still feel stiff and tired after every session.”

If one of these statements speaks to you, then you've come to the right place!

One of the questions I'm often asked is: « Audrey, how many sessions do I have to do before I see results? »

And my answer may surprise you: “It depends, but before talking about results, let's talk about goals.”

Because when it comes down to it, what counts isn't a number on a scale or a precise measurement around the waist.

NO! What REALLY matters is :

  • that silhouette you see in the mirror and how that dress will fit you,

  • the feeling of lightness when you walk,

  • that strength you feel when you stand up,

  • the ease with which you can climb three flights of stairs without suffocating,

  • being in full control of your movements, without limits, without pain.

So forget the "Summer Body" trend, it's a useless race against time for summer, I've got more tips and advice for you.🤍

SET GOALS, NOT EXPECTATIONS!

We often tend to focus on a numerical objective: losing X kilos, fitting into those famous size 36 jeans, or reaching a precise body fat percentage.

But what if you decided to change your Perspective?

What if your goal was to feel stronger, have more energy and endurance, or stop feeling those pains in your back?

These goals are concrete, measurable, and above all, they push you forward, even when the numbers remain depressing.

You feel the real change before you see it.

In fact, my very first goal when I discovered Barre-Pilates was to find a gentle dance-like practice that would relieve the back pain caused by my Scoliosis.

MOTIVATION IS USELESS.

Motivation is that little burst of energy that makes you want to get started. But let's be honest: it never lasts very long.

But Discipline is something entirely different!

It's an effort that you build up for yourself, little by little. You start with one session a week, then two, then three... You find your rhythm and anchor it in your daily routine.

It's like learning to walk: at first you hesitate, you fall, you fall again, but as you repeat, it becomes natural.

Discipline is the repetition of small efforts which, put together, end up profoundly transforming your body and mind.

LISTEN TO YOUR BODY, GROW WITH IT, NOT AGAINST IT.

We have this tendency to want to force things: force the stretch, force the cardio, force the rhythm... But what if we learned to listen? To understand what our body is trying to tell us.

Is my body tired today? Then I slow down. Today, I'm full of energy? Let's challenge myself.

This kind of listening requires you to be kind to yourself. Because we're often harsher on our own bodies than we would be on a friend. So why not treat it with the same gentleness?

LEARN ABOUT YOUR STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES.

You can't move forward if you don't know where you're coming from.

Ask yourself some questions! Why are my hips so stiff? Why do I have more difficulty with certain exercises?

Every weakness is an opportunity to evolve, every strength a lever to exploit. So start taking notes for yourself, and don't hesitate to talk to me before or after a class to track your progress.

Instead of judging ourselves, we can choose to learn.

CELEBRATES EVERY VICTORY, NO MATTER HOW SMALL!

I'm telling you: « never minimize your victories, however small they may be. »

  • One morning, you wake up without pain? That's a victory.

  • Can you squat lower than before? That's a victory.

  • Your posture improves and you stand straighter? That's a victory.

Why wait for the big finish to celebrate? Every step is a step closer to the version of yourself you want to become.

SOMETHING IS COOKING...

I'm currently working on a project that will help you structure your practice/routine and deeply listen to your body from home with my "Signature method PPC" :

I can't tell you everything yet, but what I can say is that the purpose will be to reconnect with your body, release tension and build strength, little by little.

If you want to know more, stay tuned and let me know if you're interested 👇

A simple 10-minute routine to teach you to listen to your body and your feelings?

  • Yes, I'm curious!

  • It doesn't matter to me...

SO HOW MANY SESSIONS ARE NECESSARY TO GET RESULTS?

  1. The time it takes for your body, mind and heart to align.

  2. The time it takes for discipline to take over from motivation.

  3. And above all, the time it takes for you to realize that the path is just as important as the result.

« Personally, I started to feel an improvement in my chronic back tensions (scoliosis) and on my body shape after 6-8 months (with regular practice 2 to 3 times a week). And the well-defined muscles, I'd say 1 and a half years. »

But the most IMPORTANT thing is not to compare your journey or your body with others. It's your body, your rhythm, your path, and only you can can control what you choose.

Because the most important relationship you'll ever have is with yourself.

AND YOU, WHAT ARE YOUR TOP 3 GOALS FOR 2025?

I'll share one of mine with you as an example:

Become a balance ninja & cultivate my strength to dance as if gravity didn't exist 🥰

💡MY TIP: the key is to break down each of your big goals as much as possible so that you can celebrate each little victory/goal.

Example for mine: keep my balance on one leg on my toes for 30 seconds then 1 min, etc....

Now it's your turn! Share yours in the comments, I can't wait to find out!
